Abstract

John Lamp bids farewell to AJIS on his retirement

Author Biography

John Lamp, Australasian Journal of Information Systems

Associate Professor John Lamp was awarded a Bachelor of Science in 1975. After some time as a practitioner, he undertook a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology in 1993, and a Bachelor of Computing (Hons) in 1994. He became a founding staff member of the School of Information Systems at the University of Tasmania in 1995. In 1998 he moved to Deakin University, based at the Geelong Campus. The Australasian Research Management Society conferred an individual award for excellence on him for his development of the ERA Journal and Conference Ranking Website in 2010. In 2011, he was awarded a PhD by the University of Melbourne for his thesis, Information Categorisation, an Emergent Approach. That thesis was awarded the ACPHIS Best Australian Information Systems PhD Thesis medal in 2012.  In 2013 he became editor of the Australasian Journal of Information Systems, a position he held until after his retirement in 2018.
